PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Calmodulin
Application Notes
Calmodulin is believed to be involved in intracellular Ca2+ homeostasis, cell proliferation, smooth muscle contraction, microtubular function, exocytotic secretion of cellular products, and cell motility. It may be used to activate CaM-dependent phosphodiesterase, calcineurin, CaM Kinases, etc. It is known to potentiate the hormonal stimulation of adenylate cyclase in the brain.
Usage Statement
Unless specified otherwise, MP Biomedical's products are for research or further manufacturing use only, not for direct human use. For more information, please contact our customer service department.
Key Applications

Biochemical Physiological Actions
: Ca2+ binding protein that is required for activation of cyclic nucleotide-dependent phosphodiesterase. It is also a cofactor/activator of nitric oxide synthase, calcineurin, and many kinases including ATPase, myosin light chain kinase, and CAM kinase I, II, and III. It mediates ryanodine receptor activation by cyclic ADP ribose and is involved in intracellular Ca2+ homeostasis.
