PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Phenolphtalein, ACS Application Notes Phenolphthalein Can be used in a 1% alcoholic solution as an indicator in titrations of mineral and organic acids and most alkalies. Not suitable for ammonia. Very sensitive to CO2; and, in estimating carbonates, the liquid must be boiled. Borax can be titrated with phenolphthalein as an indicator only when glycerol is present, because the color gradually fades away as the acid is added. Usable with a few alkaloids. Usage Statement Unless specified otherwise, MP Biomedical's products are for research or further manufacturing use only, not for direct human use.
