Quinine Hydrochloride Application Notes Quinine is an antimalarial agent, anticholinergic, antihypertensive and hypoglycemic agent; also used as a resolving agent. A potassium channel blocker. Also used as a flavoring agent in carbonated beverages, a skeletal muscle relaxant and an antiprotozoal agent for fish. A chiral catalyst used in highly enantioselective [2+2] cycloadditions. A resolving agent for carboxylic acids. Catalyzes the kinetic resolution of furanones.
